Married To A Dreamer: Jesus, PLease Keep Me Near The Cross

What It’s Really Like Being Married to an Entrepreneur (From a Faith-Filled, Slightly-Tired, But Deeply-Loving Wife)

Y’all. Let me just start by saying: I love my husband.

I love his heart, his ambition, his calling, and his vision. But can I also tell the truth and shame the devil?

Being married to an entrepreneur is like signing up for a rollercoaster… in the dark… with no seatbelt… while fasting.

There are highs so high you want to shout, and lows so low you’re whispering, “Lord, did You really call us to this or just him?”

1. Business Hours? Chile, What Are Those?

When your husband is an entrepreneur, there is no such thing as “off the clock.” I’ve heard the phrase, “Just one more email” more than I’ve heard “I love you.” And somehow that email always leads to a Zoom, a brainstorm, or a discovery call. I swear that cell phone is growing out of his hand.

Meanwhile, I’m over here trying to have pillow talk and he’s talking to God about brand strategy.

2. The Budget is on Faith Mode

“Babe, I feel like God is calling me to step out on faith.”

Translation: “We about to be on a rice and beans ministry for the next few months.”

Entrepreneurs have this beautiful, frustrating gift of leaping before the net appears—and as their spouse, you’re either the net or the one praying the net shows up on time.

Some months, business is booming. Other months, it’s Jehovah Jireh, we trust You. But somehow, God always makes a way, even if it’s through an unexpected refund.

3. The Passion Is… Passioning

Entrepreneurship is not for the emotionally faint. And neither is being married to one.

The passion your husband pours into his business is beautiful… and sometimes exhausting. He’s fired up at 8p.m., pitching ideas to you after dinner like you’re the Shark Tank panel. Meanwhile, you’re just trying to settle into a night routine and not rebuke him in the name of sleep because your own workday starts at 5a.m the next day.

But I’ve learned: his passion is part of what I fell in love with. Even when it’s after my bedtime and he’s explaining a new revelation about his signature science “The Character Arc”, I still don’t fully understand.

4. The Ministry of Encouragement

Wives, let’s be honest. We are called to be the silent CEOs of their hearts. When they’re doubting, we are to remind them who they are. When they’re discouraged, we can speak life. When they forget their “why,” let’s pray until they remember.

We won’t always get credit, but heaven will see us. God will see us. We’ve been anointed with that oil of patience

5. We’re Growing Together (Even If I Didn’t Ask to Be On This Journey)

Marriage to an entrepreneur will grow you. Stretch you. Test your faith and your Wi-Fi connection.

But it will also teach you to dream again. To believe BIG. To stay anchored in God when everything around you feels unstable.

I’ve learned that I’m not just married to a businessman—I’m married to a Kingdom Builder. And while it isn’t always easy, it’s always worth it.

Final Thoughts (From the Passenger Seat of His Moving Vision Van):

If you’re a wife married to a visionary, give yourself grace. And snacks. And naps.

Your love, your prayers, and your presence matter more than he’ll ever fully say. You’re not “just supporting”—you are a vital part of the assignment.

So keep loving. Keep laughing. Keep showing up. And when in doubt?

Just whisper, “Lord, this your son. Handle it.”
